Tip of the day

- Artis ZOOmeravonden -

On Saturday evenings throughout summer, party animals in Artis gather expectantly in their enclosures. Yep, ZOOmeravonden at Artis Royal Zoo lets visitors learn what the animals get up to after hours by staying open until sunset on every Saturday in June, July and August.

Activities and live music
During ZOOmeravonden, Artis offers plenty of activities for families, children and the creature curious. Some animals may be sleeping but for those still wide-eyed, why not steal an up close and personal encounter with the furry and feathered kind? There are special guided tours, face painting, scavenger hunts, puppet shows and animal talks. Meanwhile, live music performances by well-known performers often appeal to adult crowds. You can even book a ready-made picnic to collect at the gate.

So, have you made any plans for the weekend yet?

“This upcoming Saturday, 18th May, Pacha Festival comes to town! After a successful opening last year, the renowned club brand is back with the second edition of the dance music festival on Amsterdam’s Java-eiland.
With the Amsterdam skyline providing the stunning backdrop, the Pacha Festival combines a unique setting with slamming DJs and live sets, the popular Ibiza hippie market and – hopefully – a decent dose of sunshine!”

Tip of the Week

- For all Dutchies -

So, have you made any plans for the weekend yet?

On Sunday it is Bevrijdingsdag (Info for non-dutch readers: The Dutch Liberation Day which is celebrated each year on May 5th to mark the end of the occupation by Nazi Germany during World War II).
All around the country there are Bevrijdingsfestivals – click here to find a festival in your area.
Personally I will visit Bevrijdingspop in Haarlem – gezellig with great music, many yummy food stands & a good atmosphere. A great ending to a sunny weekend!
