A city that doesn’t come to mind right away when planning a day out but so worth it: Gorinchem! We will take you on a trip through this beautiful city in the province of Zuid-Holland, that is also pronounced as ‘Gorkum’. Gorinchem is situated between the cities Utrecht and Dordrecht, by the river De Linge. Did you know this is the hometown of the Dutch lead singer Dinand Woesthoff of the band Kane?
Lets start the day with breakfast at brasserie Le Bon ‘Apart in De Lingehaven, a tastefully decorated hotel-restaurant where you have lots too choose from the menu. Enjoy the lovely view over the harbor and the classy decorated restaurant. In the summer you can sit at the terrace by the water, what a start of the day! For more information please check www.lebonapart.nl
After breakfast it is time to shop and Van Zuilen Mode is the right place to do so! The renovated store – at a 5 minute walking distance from the Lingehaven – is a 10 FEET selling-point that we’re very proud of. They sell both men and women’s clothes and of course a wide selection of our collection. The store is located in 8(!) historic buildings, including a 14th-century church with different shop-in-shops and also shoes. Regret not buying that dress? Check www.vanzuilenmode.nl for the online shop. Be amazed by this beautiful store and have yourself a shopping-spree! Click here for a nice impression of the online shop-process and the store.
Did you know?
– Van Zuilen Mode was founded in 1967? The store was then runned by the mother of current owner Bert Van Zuilen
– The store received a price for Business Of The Year in the category Hospitality & Retail in 2015?
To wrap up a hopefully successful day you can have a lovely dinner at restaurant De Gasterij, located at the Grote Markt. The restaurant recently had a renovation and is definitely worth visiting for a delicious piece of (fair) meat, fish or maybe vegetarian? If you’re having trouble choosing there is a fairly priced 3-course menu with a good wine alongside. Enjoy a nice drink afterwards on the heated terrace to close of this day and we would love to see you again (at Van Zuilen Mode) in Gorinchem!
